CALIBRE Announces Partnership with Volvo Car USA to Facilitate Veteran Service Technician Apprenticeship Program

Alexandria, Virginia, June 23, 2020 – CALIBRE Systems, Inc. (CALIBRE) announced that they will begin facilitating the hiring and training of military Veterans and currently serving members of the National Guard and Reserve to fill Volvo Quality Level Technician and Volvo Hybrid Specialist positions across Volvo Car USA’s national retail network. This special initiative will enable Volvo retailers to connect with a proven source of technical skills and experience, which will enhance the quality and capacity of their service operations. Military Veterans participating in this program will complete a four-week instructor-led training program at a Volvo Training and Development Center in one of several locations throughout the United States. Volvo’s comprehensive program, facilitated by CALIBRE, combines eLearning with the four-week resident training, followed by on-the-job training at a participating Volvo retailer through a year-long competency-based registered apprenticeship program. Upon approval of the US Department of Labor and the State Approving Agency, those who are eligible to receive GI Bill® benefits will also have the opportunity to receive a monthly stipend to aid in their successful transition from military service to a new career with a participating Volvo retailer. CALIBRE has developed five major Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Veteran technician programs, to include award winning, US Department of Labor, and GI Bill® approved Veteran service technician programs among the industry’s most iconic brands. Volvo Car USA is collaborating with CALIBRE to recruit, place, and train up to 120 military Veterans annually over each of the next five years in support of its growing US retailer network.
