CALIBRE Wins $135 Million VA Transition Assistance Program Contract to Support Service Member Readiness for Civilian Life
PRESS RELEASE / December 08, 2020
Alexandria, Virginia, December 8, 2020 – CALIBRE Systems, Inc. (CALIBRE) has been awarded the Veterans Affairs Transition Assistance Program (VA TAP), a single award contract valued at $135 million. CALIBRE will support the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Office of Transition and Economic Development (TED) to advance ongoing implementation of VA’s TAP initiatives to ensure service members and their families are equipped with the necessary tools and information to facilitate their readiness for civilian life.
Each year, approximately 200,000 of our nation’s service members leave military service and return to civilian life. In close partnership with VA, CALIBRE will provide vital worldwide TAP sustainment support for transitioning service members across more than 330 military installations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).
CALIBRE will deliver the mandatory full-day VA Benefits and Services briefings required under 10 U.S.C. § 1144(f)(1)(B) to 100% of eligible transitioning service members and, on a space available basis, to dependents, caregivers, survivors, and Veterans. CALIBRE’s scope of services includes in-person one-on-one and classroom briefings, and on-going briefer training and evaluation. CALIBRE will also provide onsite support to other TAP events, including pre-separation counseling, military-conducted Capstone assessments to verify Career Readiness Standards and the viability of Individual Transition Plans, and warm handovers to appropriate VA offices for follow-on assistance. All events have a common goal: to ensure service members are informed on, and connected to, the VA benefits that apply to their specific situation.
“We are proud to once again be supporting the VA’s prime directive – customer service with a Veteran-centric mindset for seamless, effective, efficient, and emotionally resonant support to transitioning service members in a manner that honors their service,” noted Richard Pineda, CALIBRE’s President and CEO.
